Embracing Our Authentic Joy

This is a five-day / four-night spiritual workshop in Tuscany that happens just once per year. New York therapist Valerie Simon, LCSW, PAT, comes over to Italy to join Rome-based artist Claudia Palmira for a deeply transformational experience. We uniquely use psychodramatic techniques in combination with yoga and optional massage. The location is a gorgeous hilltop farmhouse with views extending to the Tyrrhenian Sea, enhancing the deep relaxation and letting go we do together.

It’s been said that it’s imperative to enjoy life!

Ye it is easy to lose sight of everything that brings us happiness with the chaos of our daily routines. Between family, work, finances, and so much more, we often forget everything that has led us to who we are, and what our deep pleasures and joy come from. In order to bring awareness and practical applications of happiness back to your real life though, you must first break away from real life. We will go deep in our explorations to uncover and support your version of joyful living.

Last minute booking is now available for anyone spontaneous enough to take the leap!

This intensive course will take place on the 29th & 30th of September, each running from 10A – 530P with an hour break for lunch.

HypnoBirthing® teaches amazing relaxation techniques and tools. It introduces a level of calmness that allows for a much more comfortable and easier birth. With HypnoBirthing® you will learn to work with your body and allow it to do what it is so beautifully designed to do, birth! Your birthing partner will be fully educated and confident in their ability to support you during your birthing day and you, as a couple and a team will learn to work together to welcome your new baby in a manner that is so gentle and comforting for your new child.

What will you learn:
  • Relaxation/Self-Hypnosis techniques to eliminate fear and tension that cause long labors and discomfort.
  • Visualisation, breathing and deepening techniques to produce a shorter, more comfortable labor.
  • We debunk the myth that pain must accompany normal birthing.
  • Why women in other cultures birth almost entirely free of discomfort and how to achieve it for yourself.
  • How the mother’s body is designed to work in harmony with nature throughout labor and how to facilitate your birthing body to avoid discomfort.
  • Practice in deep relaxation during and between contraction/surges.
  • The 4th trimester, postpartum bonding, the importance of delayed cord clamping, extended skin on skin and the breast crawl.
  • Explaining the importance of having a well-made birthing plan and how to write it.
  •  The vital role of your birthing companion as your birthing-day unfolds.

Fever is a common and recurrent event in a child’s life. Sometimes it’s mild and you can easily tell it’s not a problem. Other times it worries parents and caregivers quite a lot.
But what exactly is fever? Is it a disease? Why do children develop fevers? Is a fever a risk for my child’s health? How long should it last? At what temperature should I start worrying? How do I manage fevers and infections?
Join us for an evening with pediatrician and researcher Dr. Francesco Gesualdo to discuss all of these questions and more.

"Take care of your germs!" Important steps for the development of the human microbiome. @ Bellies Abroad HQ | Roma | Lazio | Italy
“Are hand sanitizers a good idea for small children? If I need to give my child antibiotics ,what can I do to offset their side effects? Is it a good idea to have a dog at home with young children?
should I sterilize the bottles and pacifiers every day?”

Lots of things that happen during the first 3 years of life are beyond our control, but certain practices might help our little ones to live in harmony with their microbes which can have long term benefits for their immune systems.

The microbiome is the collective genome of the microbes that live both inside and on our body. These microorganisms are very old friends to humans, but it is only recently that we have begun to understand their impact on our health and wellbeing such as fending off pathogens, tuning the immune system and even influencing mental health.

Babies acquire these germs predominantly from their mother, then from other family members, and the environment. From birth to the age of three the microbiome is extremly dynamic and intervention during this period could have life long effects. Then after the age of three, a toddler’s microbiome is more adult-like and tends to bounce back after challenges.

Join us for a meeting with Fanette Fontaine, phD to talk about the preciousness of the human microbiome and its importance on our health and learn simple tools to preserve your child’s microbiome.

Please reserve your space by writing to info@belliesabroad.com, those who prefer to attend remotely are welcome to!

Understanding a Child’s Learning Profile@ Parioli Psychological Group

Understanding a Child's Learning Profile @ Parioli Psychological Group | Roma | Lazio | Italy

Presentation by Maria Casson, MSc. Psych. M. Ed., MBPsS – Educational Assessment Specialist will take place on Friday the 30th 5-6.30 pm or Saturday Dec. the 1st 10.30-12 am

All children have unique learning profiles. Psycho-Educational assessments can provide valuable information about the needs of children, especially those who may be experiencing some academic struggles. They can also uncover strengths that may facilitate learning. In this workshop we will learn why an assessment might be recommended, the best time to assess, what the tests entail and what the results can tell us. Post-assessment recommendations and interventions in order to support a child’s specific needs will also be explored, as well as the specific roles the assessor, parents, school and most importantly, the child, will play during the entire process.
