Jessica Joelle Alexander is an American author and journalist. With a degree in psychology, she has always been passionate about studies on cultural differences. Married to a Danish for over fifteen years, Jessica speaks four languages and lives in Europe with her family. With “the Danish Way of Parenting”, published in over 20 countries, the author, after thirteen years of research and collaboration with psychologist Iben Sandahl, believes she has discovered the true secret of Denmark’s happiness, unveiled in this essential manual.

Last year the same workshop was held in English and therefore the event this time will be held in Italian. Later this year the same workshop will again be offered to English speaking families.

At the workshop a children’s area will be set up where kids can take part in decorating desserts that will be sold at the charity event Ambrit Hearts for Haiti, held on 12-13th of February. This is an activity where your children can learn how to participate in something that helps other children.

Our bodies, minds and priorities change a lot after being pregnant and giving birth to our children. Despite living in an “open-minded society”, there is still a huge taboo and sense of embarrassment when talking about the pelvic floor and the changes this part of our body goes through during pregnancy and childbirth.

We have created a course to help inform you and give you the tools to best manage these changes.

The goals of this 2-meeting course are:

  • to share our experiences and information in order to give you the opportunity to get to know your pelvic floor and how you can rehabilitate it.
  • to make you aware of the difference between what is “normal” after pregnancy/birth and what issues might need further attention.
  • to receive tools for working out everyday by yourself or with a small group of other mums to better manages the changes and issues in this delicate area of our bodies.

Birth Stories@ Bellies Abroad HQ
May 24 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
The stories of our deliveries hold a wide range of emotions. Some are easy while others are more challenging. There is a lot of space in society to talk about our joy, relief, and our baby’s health, even our pain and worries. And it can seem that there is less space to address feelings of grief, confusion, dread or disappointment. But those feelings are also quite common and deserve a voice. Please join us in sharing and listening as we discuss freely in a welcoming environment our memories and feelings surrounding our birth stories.
If you are interested in joining us please send an email to info@belliesabroad.com
