The microbiome is the collective genome of the microbes that live both inside and on our body. Those microorganisms are very old friends of humans, but it is only recently that we realized their impact on our wellness and health.
Meeting with Fanette Fontaine, phD to talk about the preciousness of the human microbiome and its importance on our health.
Fanette Fontaine is a researcher in bacterial genetics and lecturer in microbiology at the University Paris-Diderot, France. She has been working for more that 15 years on bacteria but it is when she became a mother that she became fascinated by the microbiome and deep-dived into its development during pregnancy, delivery and breastfeeding.
