Welcome to our Post Birth Course! Meet up with other English speaking mums , weigh your baby and ask the midwife any questions you may have!
This group will meet weekly with our lovely midwife Karin DeLucia to come together to discuss different topics each week and check in on your baby’s growth. Of course Karin is always happy to answer questions on any topics you may have.
The schedule for the meetings:
February 4th– Pelvic Floor. A safe space to ask all of your questions about your post partum pelvic floor, get informed on how to take goruaryod care of it and rebuild strength.
February 11th– Sleeping Babies. Deprivation of sleep can be really challenging for new parents. Learn about the physiology of your baby and new strategies.
February 18th – Babywearing. Babywearing consultant Hannah Morley-Fletcher will provide all the information about slings and the art of baby wearing.
February 25th– Crying Babies What is normal crying for newborn? How do I calm my newborn? Why is my newborn crying so much?
Join us for discovering different causes of crying and find new solutions.
March 3rd– Mom & Babies’ Day Out. A group morning walk through lovely colle oppio park.
You can join the group in which ever way works best for you and your baby. The cost is:

Presenting the Birth Course I wish I had had! Learn what happens during labour and delivery, what to know for successful breastfeeding and how to take care of your newborn. This series of six meetings will include information on how your body changes during pregnancy, prenatal testing, the hormonal and physical processes that occur during labour and delivery, pain management, and what happens when you are home with your little. We discuss birth plans and, for those of you delivering in Rome, we cover information on Roman hospitals, clinics and home birth and the clarification of roles of the Italian medical professions. Our mission is to arm you with enough information so you can have a birth as close to the one you desire as possible. This course is run by Gabriella Pacini, midwife, lactation consultant (IBCLC) and counsellor and Kiersten Miller her sidekick.
Tuesday evenings from 7pm – 9pm starting March 3rd.
Maximum 6 couples. €250 per family. Pricing can be adjusted when needed, just contact us.

The benefits involved are strengthening the relationship between mums and babies, improving relaxation of the muscular and the neurological systems , reducing stress, constipation and other tensions.
After the massage course you are welcome to stay and speak with Karin, one of our midwives and pelvic floor expert, to weigh your baby and ask any questions you may have
It’s also a good opportunity to catch up with other international new mums in Rome.

“Bloom where you are planted”
In this workshop, we will explore what it means to make a home, to get into “agreement” with life circumstances. We will have space to process some of the unique frustrations – and joys – that come with living in a culture that is not your own. From everyday mini “traumas” to undercurrents in relationships, cultural differences can be unsettling to the spirit. This kind of stress can cause us to spin out internally.
Using art therapy and experiential techniques, Bellies Abroad provider Claudia Palmira, A.T., E.S., guides you to create your own definition of being at home – in yourself. Self-parenting and self-care are essential to this, and together we will clear a path to your own inner door.
The workshop lasts 3 hours with one break.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS WORKSHOP:

• interactive, playful activities
• guided creative activities – materials provided
• time for journaling, self-reflection
• In English – some Italian if needed
ABOUT THE MODALITIES USED IN THIS WORKSHOP
In art therapy, creativity is a way to access the subconscious using the universal language of imagery. Experiential therapy involves guided movement and interaction among group members to improve spontaneity and release stuck energy in the body. No experience or skillset in either is necessary to participate. All are welcome.
WHAT TO BRING:
• a pen and pencil
• a journal or notebook
• an open mind
• optional to bring: one or two magazines to cut up
• optional: markers, colored pencils crayons or oil crayons
• wear comfortable clothing and shoes
