I had never realized how prevalent miscarriages are until a dear friend experienced one. She told our friend group and various voices pipped in “me too, me too”. How had I not known? I realized that our society does not give space in which this topic can be discussed and when women do bring it up, it is amazing how dismissive even well intentioned folks can be. “Oh you can try for another.” “Be thankful for the healthy one you’ve already got.” This meeting is a safe place for women to come and discuss the myriad of emotions this event conjures.
