On January 19th, 2019 I had the honor of emceeing the Women’s March Rome. It was an inspiring day full of passion, community and a shared sense of justice. The team who worked so hard together to make it happen, spanned generations, nationalities, religions and identities. The theme was End Violence Against Women, I used the platform to bring attention to obstetric violence. I spoke about how at Bellies Abroad, we have found an incredibly effective tool to fight against it: fathers. We know that when men are included in the education of labour and delivery, they become wonderfully protective and effective participants, our DADvocates.  I discussed making sure that we are doing our part to include and educate the men in our lives about violence against women so that they too can be an effective and powerful part of this change. It was amazing to be quoted in the NYTimes and have images and video of the event be shared across the globe in such places such as The Guardian, Yahoo News, La Repubblica, Bloomberg News, Il Manifesto, Radio Colonna and more.
